No change until 31st when flew to Dunkeld area

26 remained in the usual area throughout this period until 31st January when it set off west and was perched on the hill to the east overlooking Spittal of Glenshee at 10am. By 4pm it had fown on SW and was perched on old pines north of Loch Ordie, near Dunkeld.

Monadhliaths and one 31st heading towards Strathspey and Cairngorms

The GPS is not picking up signals yet, but non GPS signals on 27th showed it roosting near Lock Killin, on the 29th in Coignafearn and this morning (31st) at 6.05am was in Kinveachy Forest, near Carrbridge. Signals at midday suggest it is heading back to Deeside.

Jan 14th - 19th

Flew to east Sutherland

Corrie was in the Gobernuisgach area on 16th January and then flew east to roost overnight south of Klibreck, next day he flew on east to West Langwell. On 20th January he had returned and was east of the North Lairg forests.

Jan 16th - 20th

Remained in Glen Damff and Glen Prosen hills

Angus 26 remained within his recent range to the north of Backwater Reservoir ranging over plantations in Glen Damff and the hills towards Glen Prosen.

Jan 14th - 19th

Moving back east

Angus 33 near Loch Arkaig on 15th January and then poor quality transmissions showed movement east to the Newtonmore area on 19th and north to Garrogie in the Monadhliaths on 21st January.

A wander through the Perthshire hills

Another eagle encouraged to have a fly around in the better weather. Foinavon left the Loch Tay area on 15th January and by 4pm was over Creag Mhadaidh in North Perthsire and then roostd overnight west of Loch Errochty. Next day flew NW and at midday was just west of Loch Garry flying north low over the hills at 36kms/hr. Roosted that night, 16th/17th, in conifer plantations south of Loch Ericht. On 17th he flew south and that night roosted at the southern edge of the Black Wood of Rannoch. By 4pm next day he was back in his recent range south of Loch Tay where he has again settled.

At home

Fearnan remains in his parents’ home range.

Same area

Canisp was roosting overnight on the north side of Loch Veyatie on 16th/17th January, and on 17th was either side of Suilven during the day. Poor signals on 21st were from the same general area.

Non GPS movements Jan 13th - 21st

107 has remained in the Flow Country

On 16th January he was on Knockfin Heights, where he had been previously, and on night of 19th/20th he was roosting just south of the eastern conifer plantations at Forsinaird.
