Angus 26 remained in the area west of Corwharn, north of Backwater Reservoir; on 19th he flew to the NW and back in the afternoon and on 22nd flew west to Mount Blair at 4pm.

Feb 15th - 24th

Well settled – no change

Continues to live in same area with flights to fish and back

Back to Morven

Corrie was still NW of Kinloch on 16th and then flew east. On 18th was north of Altnaharra and south to Ben Klibreck before settling S of Loch Truderscaig on 19th and then north of the road and east of Strathnaver on 20th-21st. South to Glen Artney and back to Tay

Foinavon was in usual area at Loch Tay until 19th February, when he flew south to Glen Artney and towards Uamh Bheag, lived either south or north of Loch Earn until 21st when moved back to the previous area of hills south of north Loch Tay. Feb 14th - 24th

No change but!

After staying within the close vicinity of his natal eyrie since fledging, Fearnan made a flight north to Schiehallion and back at 10am on 17th February. He also ranged more widely in the home range covering 12 square kms of hills, so may be his parents are telling him it is time to leave home!

Visited Handa and then SE to Oykell

On 15th February was in hills east of Laxford Bridge, then further south to hills just east of Scourie, and at midday on 16th was perched on the hillside above the bothy of the island of Handa and two hours later was flying over Bhadaich Daraich wood, near Scourie. In the 1960s, when I first visited Handa, I saw golden eagles on the island hunting rabbits, then they nested on the mainland opposite, but that eyrie has been deserted for many decades. On 17th Canisp was over Kuyesku and then near Quinag, and then stayed in the mountains south of Drumbeg until 2pm on 20th, when he flew south to Suilven. At midday on 21st he was over Ardmair, north of Ullapool, and by the evening was near Creag Loisgte, SW of Oykell Bridge, where he settled.

Feb 15th - 21st

Local movements

He was around the Morven area and then moved a little NW towards Forsinaird on 17th -18th, and then 18th to 20th around Ben Griam Beg – when it is most likely he met his parents. On 20th – 21st he moved down east of Kinbrace and by 22nd was back in the Morven area.

Feb 14th - 24th

Returned again to Wester Ross

106 was in Gaick on 18th and then flew north being at Loch Ericht at 10am and then at Glen Affric at 4pm. Roosted that night and on 21st was west of Loch Monar, and 22nd-23rd at the top of Strathconon. At 4pm on 23rd was in Strathvaich and then turned NW to roost in the mountains before turning SW over Loch Broom at Leckmelm at 10am on 24th February. By afternoon was at Letterewe and then that evening and next day in plantations at Kernsary. She is certainly going back and for between Monadhliaths/Cairngorms and Wester Ross.
