Moving around again

Suilven was in the Glencassley area until 19th July when she flew south-west to an area south-west of Oykell Bridge, near Cnoc Dam. On 24th she flew north to Breabag, Assynt, and so south-west to the South of Loch Urigill on the 25th and then returned to Cnoc Dam on the 26th.

Roxy is ranging in an area of 20 km²

A move south west

Reay frequented a corrie at the top of Strathvaich to 4 PM on 21st July and by midday the next day was on the hills on the south-east side of Loch Fannich. Stayed there and was roosting there on night of 25th/26th of July.

Fearnan continued to live in a relatively small range of 10 km², around Loch Cuaich north-east of Dalwhinnie.

Big fly round North Sutherland

107 was in the usual area south-west of Morven until  19th July when he flew to Loch Choire for the night of 19th/20th. On 20th July he did a big flight north, being just south-east of the road junction at Melvich/Bighouse before turning south and flying over for Forsinaird hotel at 5pm. He then moved slowly to the Knochfin Heights and ranged south on the Kinbrace hills.

106 remained to the north of Glen Tilt until 6am on July 19th but by midday she had flown 54 miles to Loch Mullardoch. She continued to an area south of Loch Monar and stayed in that area until the 21st when she went north towards Strathconon before returning. On 24th July she flew north to Dundonnell and then south to the Heights of Kinloch and by the evening of 25th July was roosting north of Achnasheen.

Usual areas

Canisp moved slowly north around Loch choire and then to the north side of the loch on 25th and on 26th flew to the north of Loch Naver.

Three young this year

Morven has done well with a full brood of three young this year

Fishing for his young

Red 8T is now feeding his two recently fledged young, mainly catching fish at Rothiemurchus fishery

Wandering a little more

Rothiemurchus is still in North Perthshire by in the last 10 days he’s been ranging more with a flight July 19 North of Pitlochry into the Perthshire hills on 21 July two Loch Tay and on the 24th to Glenshee.
