Stuck in the home counties

Red 8T flew north on the 5th and settled in old haunts between Marlborough and Newbury because of the poor weather. Today he set off north and at 10am was near Witney but he turned back and flew SSE to an area around gravel pits at Mortimber, east of Aldermaston and west of Reading where he roosted for the night. Should get going north tomorrow. This evening I checked his nest and his mate from last year had just arrived, and the nest only needs a little building.
