Red 8T w left the roost at 6am and flew fast homewards through Lake District and crossed the Solway Firth to reach Southerness by 10am when he flying N at 71km/hr. He passed Moffat and was at Lanark at midday. No signals in yet for afternoon except he was at the nest near Aviemore at 4pm. A 408 km flight in less than 10 hours – a sustained flight of 40km/hr is impressive.
