On night of 21st/22nd August, Rothiemurchus roosted beside the River Tay below Edindynate and was perched a little up river at 9am, but at 11am he was flying south just N of Loch Leven and and an hour later had just set off across the Firth of Forth from Burntisland. He flew over Edinburgh (and its festival) to be near Gladhouse Reservoir at 1pm. He stopped in the Border Forests at 3pm and 4pm, but soon headed on to the River Esk near Canobie where he spent the night after a flight of 187 km.
