Beatrice set off just before 0900GMT on 27th February and headed NNW; an hour later she was west of Ronda and headed NNE and by evening settled to roost beside Embalse del Rio Yeguas, near Montoro. Next day she flew north nearly to Madrid and roosted that night beside the A4 just south of Dosbarrios. Another journey is under way and she should be headed for her stop-over just over the French border. Today I passed her nest and it was standing proud in a bright winter’s day.
