General
Very excitingly, the two eaglets in a nest on the RSPB Forsinard Flows Reserve were ringed and tagged on 30th June 2010. The two transmitters fitted to these young were provided by Scottish Natural Heritage, through Professor Des Thompson. Norrie Russell, the Site Manager of the RSPB Forsinard Flows Reserve, and Colin Mair, took us to the nest, and I was helped by David Clark and Ryan Munro. David climbed to the nest and brought the large female eaglet to the ground below the nest where I ringed and fitted the satellite tag. The chick was in good condition with no stress bars. This young eagle has not yet been named, but is recognised for the time being as 106.
Annual Movements
After fledging in July, Eaglet 106 remained within her parents’ home range in the Flow Country for the rest of the year, even though her brother (Eaglet 107) departed in late October. In February 2011 she finally set off on her travels. She headed up past Ullapool and then to Wester Ross and Drumochter, before heading south to the Cairngorms. She then remained around North Perthshire and the Monadhliaths throughout the summer, then began to range more widely again, heading back off to Wester Ross in September. She continued to range extremely widely throughout the rest of the year, moving between Sutherland and the Monadhliaths with several longer flights.

Reproductive History
Eaglet 106 is not yet old enough to breed. If she survives, we would expect her to breed when she is four years old.
