General
Rowan was tagged as a female chick in 2011 in the Ballater area of Aberdeenshire.
Rowan was satellite tagged as part of the RaptorTrack programme. This is a partnership programme between the Highland Foundation for Wildlife, the Cairngorms National Park Authority, Scottish Natural Heritage, RSPB and private estates within the park, and has its own website: www.raptortrack.org.

Annual Movements
After fledging, Rowan ranged widely throughout Angus, centred on Glen Cova. In late September she made her first big flight, a journey of at least 85km around the Cairngorms National Park. She continued to range in this area throughout the rest of the year, roosting in Glen Cova and flying up to Invermark and the Aberdeenshire border during the day but not making any long distance flights.

Reproductive History
Rowan is not yet old enough to breed. If she survives, we would expect her to breed when she is at least two years old.
