Brodie was ranging in usual areas of Upper Dulnan but visited parents’ home range briefly on 14th November

Brodie is one of the most stay-at-home eagles we have tracked and remains in a very small winter range in  the upper Dulnan River catchment. She must be a competent bird which holds her place against visiting eagles.

Moving around the Monadhliath mountains

Brodie was in the upper Dulnan catchment until 11th September; then moved to Coignafearn and did a loop back to the western Monadhliaths, on towards the Great Glen and so to the Corrieyarrick,  before returning to the upper Dulnan on 21st September. Remaining there to 5th October.

Brodie remained all month in the upper Dulnan Valley ranging in an area of 17 km². This is exactly where there was a windfarm application which has recently been rejected by the Scottish government.

Very settled in Monadhliaths

Brodie remains in a favourite location in the upper Dulnan valley with occasional flights into Coignafearn. In July has been in a range of just 32 square km.

Brodie spent most of May in the upper Dulnan river valley with occasional visits north to Coignafearn and a longer return journey to Lochaber and back on 15th – 16th May

Wandering in central Highlands

Brodie started April in the western Monadliaths and then on 6th – 9th was west of the Corrieyarrick and then south to Ben Alder on 9th and 10th April. On 11th April was north of Loch Rannoch and by evening was back in usual areas in the Monadhliaths. On 18th April she set off west to Creag Meagaidh and at 1 PM on 19th April was at Meggernie in Glenlyon before flying north to Coignafearn on the 21st.

Moving west in the Monadhliaths

Brodie has at last started to move away from home country. She was in the eastern Monadhliath mountains until 13th March when she moved to the west end of Coignafearn in the upper Findhorn. On 17th she crossed over onto Garrogie estate and then flew on west, visiting Creag Meagaidh on evening of 20th, before roosting that night in upper Glen Roy, in Lochaber, where she has stayed.
