Roxy has been ranging in her usual haunts, but often further south such as close to Megget Reservoir on 2nd October.
Ranging widely in the usual area the borders
Wander south to Hart Fell
Roxy had a trip away from the usual areas on 25th/26th August, when she flew down to the Hart Fell for the night and then back home
Ranging in the Borders
Roxy ranged widely after failing to breed this summer and was using about 19 square km in early July and then 32 square km in early August
Back to ranging behaviour
Roxy failed to breed successfully this year which is disappointing, and it’s not sure whether she was non-breeding or failed after laying eggs. During May she was ranging in an area of 43 km².
Sadly looks like Roxy has failed to nest successfully
Roxy’s behaviour in March and early April suggested she might breed in the same area as last year, but by mid month it looked like something had happened – failed or been disturbed. This was confirmed on 21st/22nd April when she roosted ovenight 22 km away and 9 km away on 24th/25 April
No change – moving towards the nesting season
Roxy has ranged in an area of 50 square km and looks to be thinking of nesting again
